The new Arena

Entourage legend Jeremy Piven, new Bond girl Olga Kurylenko and spellbinding Merlin star Katie McGrath are helping us celebrate the 200th issue of Arena, on sale now.

Piven, who plays potty-mouthed, bullshit-intolerant Hollywood kingpin Ari Gold in Entourage, puts Arena right about his own colourful reputation in an exclusive interview, and talks about working with Guy Ritchie on RocknRolla.

New 007 girl Olga Kurylenko, who stars opposite Daniel Craig in Quantum Of Solace later this month, tells us why she’s not afraid of the Bond girl curse (whatever happened to Maryam D’abo, by the way?) and explains why getting naked isn’t a big deal.

And the bewitching Katie McGrath, who plays Morgana in the new BBC1 Saturday night drama Merlin gets our hopes up when she tells us that she goes for “really smart guys, ones who are well-read and can banter and argue.” Sounds right up Arena’s street.

To mark our double century, we name The Arena 200, the coolest things rocking our world right now, with 19 pages of the best cars, food, clubs, actors, fashion, technology, writers, actresses (don’t miss no 149, Tamsin Egerton, by the way), drinks, bands, films, watches, holiday destinations and football boots.

Elsewhere in the magazine, we investigate the Naples mob who are even more feared than the Mafia, name the real-life Ari Golds and steal a few of their dealmaking mind tricks, talk to producer de nos jours Stuart Price and interrogate fearless investigator Donal MacIntyre in First & Last.

We name the coolest ski resorts the USA has to offer, fashion photographer Alice Hawkins tells us about her eclectic influences (Donatella Versace, page three…) and reveal why you should look for your next apartment in Hamburg’s red-light district.

Plus there’s 20 pages of fashion, including the finest coats for winter, Diesel’s high-end new line and Antony Price’s elegant new collection for Topman.

The November 2008 issue of Arena is on sale now, priced £3.80, or click here to subscribe.

  • Hmmm, perched on top of your ‘coolest’ list appears to be an SUV version of the car of choice for estate agents and housewives. And there you were telling us all how you were as cool as ever.
