What’s that sound?

When Arena was born in 1986, it was to the eclectic sounds of Michael Jackson, Run DMC and Meat Loaf. When Arena Online was born in 2006, it was to the eclectic sounds of The Killers, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Amy Winehouse and – regrettably – James Blunt. Times change, and so must we.

So as the new-look website launches, we’ll be updating you with what we’re listening to, looking and laughing at in the new ‘Right Now At Arena’ box, intended to give you a little glimpse of the action in the office. There will also be even more and even better content, kicking off with Music Week to celebrate our relaunch.

Andrew Shanahan starts by taking us through the musical collaborations he’d like to see, and tomorrow we’ll be giving away tickets to some of the best of this summer’s festivals: Rock Ness, Gatecrasher and Wild In The Country (Bjork’s only headline event) to name a few.

And in the (highly unlikely) event you get bored, we’ve name-checked a few of our favourite other sites on the web.

For now, though, we recommend that you stay tuned to this station; we’ll be serving up some hits.
