Can you hear the drums, Fernando?

So yesterday morning in Japan, Lewis Hamilton won his fourth grand prix title of the season, while uppity team-mate Fernando Alonso spun off after 26 laps.

  • I thought that would be the end of him in a decent car for a while, after Ferrari confirmed they wouldn’t take him, but Renault aren’t fussy.

As long as they’re happy to have someone on board who thinks little of blackmailing his team if he’s not made preferred driver, thats their call….

  • Its not over yet though…If Hamilton wins in China it is. Fingers crossed.

Jean Todt said that he has Massa and Raikkonen signed up for another year but I didnt believe him - Alonso would suit Ferrari, they are ruthless as he is.

  • There could be more to it since Hamilton’s being investigated for dangerous and erratic driving while under the safety car. Webber’s reported him as the main reason why him and Vettel crashed. Personally I’d like to see the win taken away…..the last two races will be a total anti-climax otherwise!

Though I honestly think even if Hamilton wins the championship this year ( and I’ve got no doubts that he will eventually ), it’s hard to find any worth in it for him.

  • Not quite so funny now however ………………………

At least it will make the final race worth watching.

  • Am I the only one here who absolutely hates ITV’s coverage……or rather the Lewis Hamilton fan club? Louise Goodman seems to be the only one who goes against that because she seems to have a schoolgirl crush on Jenson Button. I also want Jim Rosenthal at the F1 races and not Steve Rider. There’s just no justice in it at all.

  • ITVs coverage is poor - it is the Lewis fanclub, it is poor for all of us who have enjoyed F1 before ITV decided to take the controversy way of getting more people to watch - and using the competition and dramatisation with Alonso to gain more fans to British racing. Alonso is a fantastic driver with many many British fans who supported him before and will continue to throughout his career, mainly because of his proffesional passionate un-conceted approach to F1
    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
