Super Saturday
The potential of having ‘the Volcano’ Lesley Vainikolo make his debut for England, despite already having represented New Zealand at Rugby League, raises a number of arguments about national identity and what it truly means to represent your country. But when it comes to Rugby, there is only one difference between the League and Union… two fewer idiots. The finest oval ball-shaped game comes to a climax this Sunday when the New England Patriots take on the New York Giants in Glendale, Arizona for the Super Bowl. When the Patriots win, the greatest sporting achievement of all time will be completed.
No other team has ever won all 19 of their matches and now only the Giants stand in the way of the first-ever perfect season. The Patriots have consistently destroyed their opposition – The Dallas Cowboys, supposedly a rival team got beat by 21 points, while The Buffalo Bills were humiliated 56-10.

And no man has played as perfectly as the Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. You may not have heard of Brady, but he is the man you wish you were. The Californian has already won three Super Bowls and has also added three MVP awards to his impressive-looking mantelpiece. After starting off as the Patriots’ number four quarterback, he worked his way up and is now arguably the best ever. This season he smashed the NFL’s record number of touchdown passes in a season.
So hungry for success has Brady been that last season he restructured his contract, taking less money so that his team could attract better players with bigger contracts.
Though he’s still netted enough cash to enjoy himself off-field. He hangs out in the best clubs in New York, dines at the fanciest restaurants and dated actress Bridget Moynahan before making the greatest upgrade in history when he began dating Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen.
History is going to be made Sunday – but don’t take my word for it, tune in yourself on 3 February to see the great man create a little bit of history.

If only this article came to fruition, I would be a happy man this morning. Tommy was definitely out of sorts in Arizona, although going home to Gisele should take a little of the sting away!

I actually enjoyed the first half of the Superbowl, before I decided I wasn’t interested enough to sit up until the early hours of the morning to watch a sport I barely understood.
